Fat Storage & Insulin Levels

Hi, I wanted to share a simple yet very important topic today about Fat Storage and Insulin levels.  Many people when you mention insulin levels; they only think about someone who may be diabetic.  Insulin levels affect everyone if not maintained at healthy levels even if you are not at a diabetic stage.  You may be holding excess weight even though your frame is small that excess weight is fat storage due to insulin levels.  So today I want to take a moment to share ways to improve insulin levels and use excess fat rather than storing it.

The only way we can loose fat is by using the fat.  Our bodies either will use sugar as fuel or fat.  Most of the time if our sugar intake is high like mine; our bodies will use the sugar as fuel rather than burning fat.  Now most people when they look at me cannot see the excess fat that is being stored; however those areas such as love handles and blotches in thighs called cellulite let me know I am storing fat.  This simple tip will allow me to switch which fuel my body uses while giving me a leaner smoother look even without exercise.  Now remember diet and exercise is essential to each of our daily living; this is just a way to trick the body regarding our insulin levels.  First we have to decrease sugar intake and carbohydrates drastically to almost none.  Now understand you will get some sugar and carbs but not direct.  We have to replace these items with high fiber items such as beans and nuts.  Try to stay away from the breads if you want to lean out really fast.  Next you will add vegetables and fruits but stay with your citrus type fruits such as grapefruits which are good for burning fat and oranges.  This will slow your pancreas from putting out higher levels of insulin.  Try this for 8 weeks and let me know your results.  Happy thoughts and healthy eating.

Yours in Sunshine,

What are you putting in your Temple...Your Body?

I just heard a conversation about the seven deadly sins; eating isn't usually the first thing we think of when it comes to sin.  Guess what....gluttony is one of the deadly sins.  Eating just to eat is not good for our health or our life.  I am guilty of going to all you can eat spots and eating more than what I would normally just because it is unlimited.  I am now making a decision to only eat when I am truly hungry.  Our bodies will let us know when we need to feed it.  Don't skip any meals; eat three healthy meals a day and a healthy snack in between.  Eating because we are bored, lonely or sad is very dangerous to our health.  These are disorders that can slowly creep up on us without even knowing it.  Extra pounds and unwanted health issues can arise.  Today lets make a decision to eat more healthy meals increasing our fruit and vegetable intake and doing it all in moderation.  Smaller plate sizes and 2/3 fruits and vegetables.  Make it a healthy day.  Its a work in process but we can get there together.

Healthy Happy Thoughts,

Healthy Living Starts Within how you feel...

Today I wanted to speak to you in regards to a healthy way of living.  Yes healthy living has a lot of attributes and ways to actually arrive and get to Homeostasis whereas your internal condition remains stable.  I want to start with our feelings.  What we feel not only controls and regulates our mood; it also controls how our body is going to react meaning good or bad.  Stress can cause the production of the stress hormones including corticosteroids, which can accelerate or restrict the movement of waste through the colon.  So our feelings can help or hurt how our body responds and functions.

Now lets talk about feelings we have that make us and our body feel good such as hugs.  Hugs release Oxytocin levels which heals feelings of anger and loneliness.  So today we are discovering a starting point to a healthier way of living just by choosing to feel good rather than bad.  So today lets make a conscious decision and focus on things that make us feel good and are great for us.  Lets not confuse this with things that make you feel good but are not good for you.  An example of this would be excess consumption of food or drink that taste good but in excess is not good for us.  We want to treat our bodies just like it is the only one we have because it is.

With this comes a responsibility to surround ourselves with people and things that bring great thoughts and support to us.  Right now many of us are working jobs that we are dreading to go to each day and our home is not a place of serenity that we are breaking the door down to get to.  All of our daily routines will affect how our bodies last over time.  In all of this; yes we will have a not so great day at times; our goal is just to look at our over all quality of life the majority of the time.

So over the next couple of weeks we will be discussing ways we can approach a better way of living and feeling.  We will talk about statistics and how many of us go through life not understanding that our mind and thoughts are dictating our Happy.  I am Cheri Amour and it is my goal to bring goodness to each person that reads my blog....stay tuned for more Sunshine ;-).

Happy Thoughts Always,

Cheri Amour
